Family MattersSeparating Adult/Child ClassesFor children ages birth to 5 years old, not yet in kindergarten and their family Can’t make a daytime class? Well, this is the class for you. The first half of the class will be parent/child interaction time. This includes fun games, art, circle time and so much more! During the second half, children will stay in the room with a licensed Early Childhood Teacher while the parents share joys and concerns with other parents. The discussion group is led by a licensed Parent Educator. Parents will be given the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and discuss common topics that you come across when raising children. Sibling care is offered FREE of charge. Kids Town SummerKids Town Summer Program - 2026 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!The Kids Town Summer Program 2026, provides care for those who will be in Kindergarten - 6th Grade for the 2026 - 2027 school year! Kids Town is located in the Milaca Public School building, down the preschool hallway. We are excited for another summer providing a safe and fun environment for kids with opportunities for them to do arts & crafts, STEAM activities, gym or outside time, swim time, watch movies, play games and some field trips! Breakfast and Lunch will be available through the school on Mondays - Thursdays in June & July (No meals served in August)Breakfast and Lunch are NOT served on Fridays throughout the summer, so you will need to pack what your child needs on fridays.Snacks are not provided, but if you child needs/wants a snack during the day you can pack one. This interactive class gives you and your child the space to create, experiment, and bond. Together, we’ll explore the vibrant world of art through open-ended process painting and delightful step-by-step projects. It’s the perfect environment to nurture your child’s imagination, build fine motor skills, and connect with other families in the community. Come ready to play, paint, and make a mess! Milaca Youth BasketballYouth RecreationMilaca Youth Basketball Grades 4-8 Registration will open Monday, August 3rd, 2026 and will close on Wednesday September 16th, 2026. Team assignments will be communicated at the completion of registration. Teams will practice twice a week and schedules will be communicated by coaches in late October/early November. Milaca Youth Football LeagueYouth RecreationThe Milaca Youth Football Association (MYFA) is gearing up for the 2026 football season! MYFA is a full-contact youth football program with full pads and competes in the East Central Youth Football League. The league emphasizes sportsmanship, team spirit, and strong football fundamentals. Season Details Practices begin August 24th, held three times per week (Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays) 5:30-7:30 PM Once school begins in September, practice will reduce to two times per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) Games start in September and are played on Saturday mornings MYFA teams will compete against: Ogilvie, Rush City, Pine City, Braham, Hinckley–Finlayson, Mora, and Mille Lacs. Please note that travel is required, and parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from all practices and games. Equipment Requirements Players are required to provide their own: Helmet (white in color) Cleats (baseball cleats may also be used for football) Helmets can be expensive, so we recommend starting your search early and checking secondhand options such as Play It Again Sports or Facebook Marketplace. Retailers like Scheels and Dick’s Sporting Goods offer free helmet sizing to help ensure the correct fit before purchasing. Equipment provided by the association (pads and jerseys) will be handed out at the first day of practice. Please arrive 30 minutes early on August 24th for equipment and paperwork.
