Holiday Cookie Workshop: Royal Icing & Bakery Black & White CookiesAdult ActivitiesStep into a sweet winter wonderland in this joyful holiday cookie workshop, where participants learn the foundations of decorating cookies with Royal Icing—now paired with a bakery-style favorite called Black-and-White Cookies—half-way between a cake and a cookie, and covered with glossy chocolate and vanilla ganache-style icing on top. If you’re looking to start a new holiday tradition and add a truly special cookie to your repertoire, this festive family-friendly class is for you. Gather your family for a fun baking experience or enjoy a little creative time for yourself. Participants will bake their own sugar cookies ahead of time so they are ready to decorate at the start of class. A PDF with two of the instructor’s personal sugar cookie recipes—one soft and chewy, one crisp—along with a full list of ingredients and supplies for Royal Icing will be provided roughly 5 days before class to allow time for shopping and baking. Choose to bake one or the other or both using cookie festive cutters of choice. Whether for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Kids Town SummerKids Town Summer Program - 2026 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!The Kids Town Summer Program 2026, provides care for those who will be in Kindergarten - 6th Grade for the 2026 - 2027 school year! Kids Town is located in the Milaca Public School building, down the preschool hallway. We are excited for another summer providing a safe and fun environment for kids with opportunities for them to do arts & crafts, STEAM activities, gym or outside time, swim time, watch movies, play games and some field trips! Breakfast and Lunch will be available through the school on Mondays - Thursdays in June & July (No meals served in August)Breakfast and Lunch are NOT served on Fridays throughout the summer, so you will need to pack what your child needs on fridays.Snacks are not provided, but if you child needs/wants a snack during the day you can pack one. Milaca Wolves Archery TeamYouth RecreationPer NASP (National Archery School Program) rules, your child must attend Milaca Public Schools or be Homeschooled and live in the Milaca District to be eligible for this program. This is a traveling team that includes official NASP tournaments and the State Tournament.Tournament transportation is the responsibility of the family. There is a mandatory informational parent meeting for Team on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 5:45 P.M. Location: Elementary Small Gym (next to the Elementary Cafeteria). The meeting will cover procedures, expectations, bow rental (for those participating), and changes from the prior season. We will also collect volunteer collateral checks, jersey sizes, and other participants’ information. Archers must be registered by the end of the evening of the team meeting Cost: $250.00 (includes NASP tournament, State tournament and tournament jersey) Location: Elementary Small Gym Begins: The practice schedule will be announced at the Parent Meeting in November. Tournament season runs January - March. Milaca Youth Football LeagueYouth RecreationThe Milaca Youth Football Association (MYFA) is gearing up for the 2026 football season! MYFA is a full-contact youth football program with full pads and competes in the East Central Youth Football League. The league emphasizes sportsmanship, team spirit, and strong football fundamentals. Season Details Practices begin August 24th, held three times per week (Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays) 5:30-7:30 PM Once school begins in September, practice will reduce to two times per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) Games start in September and are played on Saturday mornings MYFA teams will compete against: Ogilvie, Rush City, Pine City, Braham, Hinckley–Finlayson, Mora, and Mille Lacs. Please note that travel is required, and parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from all practices and games.
