Home AloneYouth EnrichmentIs your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and parents are encouraged to review the information and discuss it with their child/children after class.Summer 2026 -

Kiddie ParadeFor children birth to five years old and their families Get your costumes ready and walk with us in our kiddie parade! (Please no toy weapons) The parade will be led by our school’s fifth grade marching band. Bikes, wagons and strollers are welcome. Each parade participant will receive a free popsicle and a book. A picnic-style supper will be for sale following the parade. Stay and enjoy the community splash pad, Milaca trails, and park with friends. Kids Town SummerKids Town Summer Program - 2026 (Registration Opens Monday, April 27th, 2026)(Current families get priority before new families, but new families are welcome to apply and will be notified when there is room) The Kids Town Summer Program 2026, provides care for those who will be in Kindergarten - 6th Grade for the 2026 - 2027 school year! Kids Town is located in the Milaca Public School building, down the preschool hallway. We are excited for another summer providing a safe and fun environment for kids with opportunities for them to do arts & crafts, STEAM activities, gym or outside time, swim time, watch movies, play games and some field trips! Breakfast and Lunch will be available through the school on Mondays - Thursdays in June & July (No meals served in August)Breakfast and Lunch are NOT served on Fridays throughout the summer, so you will need to pack what your child needs on fridays.Snacks are not provided, but if you child needs/wants a snack during the day you can pack one. Milaca Youth Flag Football CampYouth RecreationIs your child interested in football but not quite ready for full pads and tackling? The Milaca Youth Flag Football Camp is the perfect introduction to the game! This program is designed for young athletes who are new to football and want to learn the basics in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Flag football is a great way to get kids active, build confidence, and spark excitement for the sport before transitioning to tackle football in later years. Practices and games are supervised and coached by Milaca High School staff and players, and the camp serves as a key developmental component of the Milaca Football Program. Milaca Youth Football LeagueYouth RecreationThe Milaca Youth Football Association (MYFA) is gearing up for the 2026 football season! MYFA is a full-contact youth football program with full pads and competes in the East Central Youth Football League. The league emphasizes sportsmanship, team spirit, and strong football fundamentals. Season Details Practices begin August 24th, held three times per week (Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays) 5:30-7:30 PM Once school begins in September, practice will reduce to two times per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) Games start in September and are played on Saturday mornings MYFA teams will compete against: Ogilvie, Rush City, Pine City, Braham, Hinckley–Finlayson, Mora, and Mille Lacs. Please note that travel is required, and parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from all practices and games.
