Drone RacingYouth EnrichmentStudents will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they can optionally purchase during the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. Kiddie ParadeFor children birth to five years old and their families Get your costumes ready and walk with us in our kiddie parade! (Please no toy weapons) The parade will be led by our school’s fifth grade marching band. Bikes, wagons and strollers are welcome. Each parade participant will receive a free popsicle and a book. A picnic-style supper will be for sale following the parade. Stay and enjoy the community splash pad, Milaca trails, and park with friends. Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 Time: 4:30 P.M. registration, 5:00 P.M. parade starts Location: Teal’s parking lot Cost: Free Register the day of at Teal’s at 4:30 P.M. in the parking lot The parade will begin at Teal’s, travel down Second Avenue, left on 2nd Street Northwest and continue to Recreation Park. Kids Town SummerKids Town Summer Program - 2026 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED!The Kids Town Summer Program 2026, provides care for those who will be in Kindergarten - 6th Grade for the 2026 - 2027 school year! Kids Town is located in the Milaca Public School building, down the preschool hallway. We are excited for another summer providing a safe and fun environment for kids with opportunities for them to do arts & crafts, STEAM activities, gym or outside time, swim time, watch movies, play games and some field trips! Breakfast and Lunch will be available through the school on Mondays - Thursdays in June & July (No meals served in August)Breakfast and Lunch are NOT served on Fridays throughout the summer, so you will need to pack what your child needs on fridays.Snacks are not provided, but if you child needs/wants a snack during the day you can pack one. Program Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2026Program End Date: Friday, August 21, 2026 Program Hours: 6:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. Pick Your Weeks = $44.00 daily rate per child - (Registration Fee $55.00 per family) - This contract is for split families or for those who only need care every other week! Pick your days = $47.00 daily rate per child - (Registration Fee $55.00 per family) -This contract is for those who have a variable schedule each week, and it won’t always be the same days. With this contract your child is still required to come at LEAST 2 days a week. With this contract you are responsible for sending your child’s schedule in each week via email to kids.town@milaca.k12.mn.us by noon on Thursdays prior to the care week starting. If you do not send in your weekly schedule by Thursdays at noon, then your child will not be on the attendance for that coming week, but you will still be billed for the 2-day minimum. Milaca Youth Football LeagueYouth RecreationThe Milaca Youth Football Association (MYFA) is gearing up for the 2026 football season! MYFA is a full-contact youth football program with full pads and competes in the East Central Youth Football League. The league emphasizes sportsmanship, team spirit, and strong football fundamentals. Season Details Practices begin August 24th, held three times per week (Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays) 5:30-7:30 PM Once school begins in September, practice will reduce to two times per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) Games start in September and are played on Saturday mornings MYFA teams will compete against: Ogilvie, Rush City, Pine City, Braham, Hinckley–Finlayson, Mora, and Mille Lacs. Please note that travel is required, and parents/guardians are responsible for transportation to and from all practices and games. Parent Information In place of a formal parent meeting, families are encouraged to visit our website at:https://milacayouthfootball.com/ for additional details about the season, expectations, and program information. Equipment Requirements Players are required to provide their own: Helmet (white in color) Cleats (baseball cleats may also be used for football) Helmets can be expensive, so we recommend starting your search early and checking secondhand options such as Play It Again Sports or Facebook Marketplace. Retailers like Scheels and Dick’s Sporting Goods offer free helmet sizing to help ensure the correct fit before purchasing. Equipment provided by the association (pads and jerseys) will be handed out at the first day of practice. Please arrive 30 minutes early on August 24th for equipment and paperwork.
